Suited connectors are often misunderstood by poker players. They are okay hands when the pot is multiway. The obvious advantage of suited connectors is they can help you make flushes and straights which are hands that can win you a lot of money.

Here are some problems though with suited connectors:

Small flushes

What do you expect with suited connectors but form small flushes. These small flushes can of course be beaten by the higher flushes and you might end up losing a good chunk of your stack if you assess the game poorly.

Two-pairs

They can also make two pairs. These are good cards in poker but you have to know if you have a strong two pair like A-10 or just a 7-6. The first one allows you to play for the stacks while the second one is vulnerable to the aggressiveness of the other opponents.

Draws and not made hands

When the betting on the flop gets a bit to aggressive, a player with a suited connector might not be able to move on and miss improving his cards by making hands. Compare this if you have a pair which can make sets and better on multiway situations since they can go against pairs, form triples, or even a full house.

Conversely, the suited connectors though has a good chance of hitting flops. You can play them to represent good hands when the board shows low cards. When you go to a showdown, you have a good chance of forming the best hand.

Remember when the opportunity rises with your suited connectors, go ahead and pull that trigger. This way, you maximize the real value of these cards.

Jennifer Harman was born in Reno, Nevada. She can regularly be found at the highest stakes cash game at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. She has featured in several television and print coverage and was part of the team of poker players who found their mention in the The Professor, the Banker, and the Suicide King. Other accomplishment is that she wrote the Limit Hold ’em chapter for SuperSystem 2. She is married to Marco Traniello and has no children.

Jennifer Harman continues to be an ace woman player and actually is able to stand in a man’s domain very well. According to Jennifer Harman, it helps to be a woman and one who can play poker well. The way her opponents see her is like a typical stereotypical meek girl and that might prove to be their undoing.

When Jennifer Harman is at the Poker Table she continues to be a force to reckon with. Although Jennifer Harman is not a really big built girl, the tenacity and perseverance to win comes through as soon as she is at the poker table. She seems to be a transformed person once she is at the poker table based on the powerful presence and the passion that she carries for the game. The expertise and the total years of poker playing experience that she brings to the table makes her an opponent to be watched out for. She has played, participated and perfected all the poker playing games there are and this makes her one of the best all round poker players around.

Jennifer Harman ahs several favorite poker players and they are Chip Reese, Ted Forrest and John Hennigan. These are the three poker players who have been poker players who have gone on to impress her greatly with their strategies and techniques adopted at the table. She has won the 2000 World Series of Poker $5,000 Buy-in Deuce-to-seven No-limit Draw Event and the 2002 World Series of Poker $5,000 Buy-in Limit Hold’em Event.

Jennifer Harman started playing poker at her father’s lap when she was just eight. Jennifer Harman’s father was interested in the game of poker and whenever he would be losing he would call on his daughter to play the hand for him. The good thing here was his daughter would always go on to turn the game around for him. Those were the first beginnings of a professional poker player. By the time Jennifer Harman turned twenty-one she knew what profession she wanted to pursue what else but become a professional poker player.

Jennifer Harman when on to win the 2000 WSOP deuce-to-seven event and believe it or that the first time she had ever played the game. That sure was a great achievement in the poker world. She also mastered other difficult games like Omaha 8 and Seven Card Stud When Jennifer Harman is not practicing her game of poker then she is found playing with her dogs.

She once won $1.7 million in a single pot. That was the very first time that a single person had won so much at one go.
